Today's political landscape in Brazil is buzzing with activity, particularly in the major cities. A recent Quaest poll, conducted between September 8 and 10, revealed intriguing insights into the mayoral races in São Paulo (3550308), Rio de Janeiro (3304557), Belo Horizonte (3106200), and Recife (2611606). In São Paulo, there's a technical tie among Ricardo Nunes (24%), Pablo Marçal (23%), and Guilherme Boulos (21%). Meanwhile, in Rio de Janeiro, Eduardo Paes leads comfortably with 64%, followed by Alexandre Ramagem at 13%. Over in Belo Horizonte, Mauro Tramonte is ahead with 27%, while Fuad Noman and Bruno Engler follow with 20% and 16%, respectively. In Recife, João Campos dominates with 76%, leaving Daniel Coelho and Gilson Machado far behind at 6% each.
Interestingly, the Quaest poll also highlighted candidate rejection rates. Datena (PSDB) in São Paulo has the highest rejection rate at 60%, while in Rio, Cyro Garcia (PSTU) leads with 47%. In Belo Horizonte, Carlos Viana (Podemos) has a 47% rejection rate, and in Recife, Daniel Coelho (PSD) tops the list with 47%.
In parallel, Datafolha released another survey on September 11, showing a technical tie in São Paulo between Ricardo Nunes, Pablo Marçal, and Guilherme Boulos, each hovering around 22-23% of the vote. Datafolha also explored voter intentions in Caruaru (2604106), adding another layer to the electoral landscape.
